VIRGIN GALACTIC FUTURE ASTRONAUTS VISIT THE NORTH OF SWEDEN The following morning the Swedish Space Corporation held a Press Conference at Esrange with an update on the plans to fly SS2 from Kiruna. Our future astronauts then had the opportunity to witness the launch of a sounding rocket which traveled at Mach 6 and looked extremely impressive as it soared into the clear blue sky. On their third day, helicopters flew our Future astronauts over breathtaking untouched winter landscape to the highest mountain peak in Sweden, Kebnekaise. This incredible view was rounded off with a glass of champagne before heading to a Sami village for an insight into the local culture. Snowmobiles, fishing, dinner by a frozen lake and lectures on the aurora borealis were just a few more activities enjoyed by our future astronauts which made the whole experience a truly unique VG forum.
